The Club is a comfortable venue for meetings for buying and selling between members, auctions, competitions, displays and evenings with visits from a variety of experts. We are known as a friendly Club. The Club is affiliated to the Hampshire Philatelic Federation.

Club History

The Club was formed in 1964 as the Royal Aircraft Establishment Philatelic Society. This officially folded in 1990 but some members decided to start the Farnborough Stamp Club, which was founded in 1991 and was later renamed Farnborough Stamp and Postcard Club.



The programme is varied with visiting speakers, displays and competitions as well as dealers' evenings, an auction and ample opportunity for members to buy and sell at meetings.

The exchange packet round is popular, giving members the opportunity to buy and sell.  We provide a packet round for some of the local clubs.


Our members are drawn from Farnborough, Aldershot, Ash, Fleet, Yateley and the Surrey borders.  There is a wide range of collecting interests including stamps, postcards, covers, postal history and postmarks.  If you are new to collecting or are reviving an interest then members are happy to help and advise.



Following the introduction of the Government's 'rule-of-6', we have suspended future meetings until the situation changes.  Our meeting on 2nd September 2020 conducted under the rules published below, was a success and the club is well placed to resume activities when restrictions are eased. 



Resumption of activities from 2nd September 2020

The Club is pleased to announce that meetings will resume but the packet round and all other activities remain suspended. After consultation with the venue and following a risk-assessment, there will be new rules to follow:-

  1. The meeting hall is restricted to a maximum of 22 persons who are not of one social ‘bubble’.  FSPC will ensure that this figure is not exceeded and advise members that for the time-being, guests will not be permitted to attend meetings. 

  2. Air circulation is currently by means of open windows and doors and this is managed by staff of the British Legion Club.  With the onset of colder months, staff of the British Legion Club may make changes to the management of air circulation, following UK Government advice.

  3. On the date of inspection of the hall, 9 tables and seating had been set in socially-distanced places by staff of the British Legion Club.  Where additional tables and seating is required, FSPC’s committee will arrange these in line with social distancing requirements and following the recommendations of the British Legion Club’s staff.  FSPC will notify British Legion staff of all tables and chairs handled so that correct cleaning can be carried out by British Legion’s staff after the meeting.

  4. Members will be required to bring their own hand-sanitiser, mask and disposable gloves.

  5. Members will not be permitted to access the hall via the bar area; instead, entrance will be via the side doors adjacent to the bowling green.  There will be one door for entry and one door for exit.  A member of the committee or a designated member will be overseeing this activity to ensure that members do not breach the access requirements.

  6. All members must sanitise their hands before entering the hall and on entry, all members must sign the register and ensure that they provide up-to-date contact details.  A member of the committee or a designated ordinary member will be overseeing this activity at each meeting. 

  7. Each member will be assigned a table and chair and will not be permitted to swap places with other members.  Where members wish to see display material on other tables, the committee will oversee a socially-distanced viewing.  Where 2-metre distancing is not possible when viewing displays, members will be required to wear face masks unless they have an excluding condition as defined by the UK Government. 

  8. On leaving the meeting, each member will take home their own display material and rubbish and will sanitise their hands. 

  9. FSPC’s December 2020 Christmas party is cancelled.

  10. Members must not to attend meetings if they have a temperature; have a new continuous cough; have lost or experienced a change in their sense of smell or taste, have cold-or flu-like symptoms or have been in physical contact in the last 14 days with someone who is now self-isolating. 

  11. All members are required to comply with these rules; members who do not wish to comply should not attend meetings.
